What are Orthotics?

Orthotics are devices that fit comfortably inside your shoes to correct bio-mechanical alignment problems in the feet, and hence the lower limb and pelvic region – think of them as “the foundations of the house”.

Will Orthotics help me?

They are particularly effective for;

•    Metatarsalgia (Pain in the ball of the foot)
•    Tired/ Aching feet and legs
•    Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Pain)
•    Anterior knee pain
•    Achilles Tendonitis
•    Tibial Stress Syndrome (Shin Splints)
•    Pes Planus (Flat feet)
•    Lumbar-Sacral Pain
•    Rheumatoid Arthritis
•    Osteoarthritis of the ankle, knee and hip.

Our physiotherapists have post-graduate experience in assessment for orthotics and will advise you on the best device for your needs, depending on your symptoms, regular activities and finances!

How much do they cost?

Orthotic prescription is free of charge but please view our fees section for a full price list.

"I had spent a significant amount of money elsewhere on unwearable orthotics, before coming to Imokilly Physiotherapy Clinic.  The orthotics I got here are by far the most comfortable to wear, and I wouldn't put a pair of shoes on without them!"     MB (Ladysbridge)
